Mishustin visited a fish oil production plant in Magadan

MAGADAN, July 22 Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin visited a small modern enterprise in Magadan on Monday — a plant for the production of purified fish oil «Omega-Sea», calling it an example of a private initiative that the state will willingly support.
“This is an example of how public-private partnership works not in words, but in deeds. This is what happens when an investor leads the way, and not just state investments or various benefits,” the prime minister noted after inspecting the plant.

Mishustin said that he had already familiarized himself with the products of the Omega-C company, which the governor gave him, and they also tested them in the Moscow laboratory.

After listening to a story about the benefits of Omega-3 produced by this company for the body, the head of government admitted that for him “it’s also memories from childhood, when kids in kindergartens were given fish oil from a spoon.”
Mishustin thanked regional investors and regional authorities for the promising project, which is also important for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The plant opened in February last year, the total sales volume of its products both on the Russian and international markets will be 2,200 tons per year.

The company produces edible fish oil with an Omega-3 concentration of more than 30%, re-esterified triglycerides (rTG) with a concentration of more than 60%, veterinary fish oil for aquaculture and food for cats and dogs.

The launch of the plant ensured the creation of 30 new jobs.
Before leaving the enterprise, the head of government also got acquainted with the project for the construction of a Marine Tourist Center in Nagaev Bay. The Omega-Sea plant is located on the coastline, where the tourist center will be located — part of the sea facade of Magadan.
Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov emphasized that the implementation of the project uses a successful financing scheme, which allows two-thirds of the budget loans that the region took out for its implementation.
For his part, the Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexey Chekunkov assured the Prime Minister that the model for financing the maritime tourist center will be finalized, and “this flagship project will open Magadan to the whole world.”
