MOSCOW, July 21 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries and emphasized that Russia will always support Syria in its quest to uphold sovereignty, unity and ensure security, the corresponding telegram was published on the Kremlin website.
«Dear Mr. President, please accept sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Over the past decades, Moscow and Damascus have accumulated extensive experience in bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields, and through joint efforts significant successes have been achieved in the fight against the forces of international terrorism on Syrian soil,” — the congratulations say.
Putin also noted that Russia will continue to invariably support the government of the SAR in its desire to defend state sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the country, ensure national security and internal political stability.
