DONETSK, August 5 A civilian was killed as a result of shelling by Ukrainian troops of the Komsomolets residential area in Gorlovka in the DPR, the city's mayor Ivan Prikhodko said in Telegram channel.
Earlier, the mayor reported that a civilian was injured in the Ukrainian shelling of the housing estate.
«As a result of the shelling of the Komsomolets housing estate by Ukrainian gangs, a peaceful Gorlovka resident was killed. Eternal memory to the innocent victim. Condolences to her family and friends,» the mayor's message said.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, and the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest settlements of the DPR. Before the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka was more than 250 thousand people.
