During the dismantling of an old pipeline in the production building of one of the enterprises in Sterlitamak, an explosion occurred ignition of a gas-air mixture and its explosion. This was reported on Monday, August 5, by the republican department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
The department's Teelgram channel reported that as a result of this incident, three workers received thermal burns, from which they died on the spot.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous industrial facilities, resulting in the inadvertent death of two or more persons).
Earlier sources said that the explosion occurred at about 14:00 Moscow time. One of the enterprise's buildings was heavily smoked. At the same time, there was no official information about the causes and circumstances of the incident at that time.
Meanwhile, rescuers checked information about a possible explosion on the roof of a building in western Moscow. Residents said they heard a loud bang in the area of the roof. It turned out that plaster collapsed at the height of the eighth floor, but there were no casualties.
