Prosecutor Daniil Mandrygin demanded that the punishment for spouses Anastasia Dyudyaeva and Alexander Dotsenko, convicted in the case of calls for terrorism due to napkins with the words «Putinyak to the gallows,» be toughened. This was reported by the human rights project «Support for political prisoners. Memorial» with reference to lawyer Sergei Podolsky.
In the appeal, Mandrygin demands that the spouses be sentenced to four years in a general regime penal colony. According to the prosecutor, the punishment imposed on Dyudyaeva and Dotsenko «cannot fully ensure the restoration of social justice.»
On July 18, the 1st Western District Military Court in St. Petersburg sentenced Dyudyaeva to three and a half years in a penal colony, her husband was sentenced to three years. Mandrygin believes that the actions of the spouses were «proportionate» and they were guided by a «single» intent, so their terms should be the same. The prosecutor also pointed out that Dyudyaeva and Dotsenko can only “correct themselves” in a general regime colony, not in a penal colony.
The case against the couple (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) was opened because of napkins with anti-war slogans and “calls for reprisals” against Vladimir Putin in the Lenta store in St. Petersburg. The investigation claims that Dyudyaeva and Dotsenko placed napkins there with the words “Putin should be hanged.” The couple themselves deny that they were the authors of the “leaflets.” Even the handwriting expert for the prosecution, Anzhela Vorobyova, doubted their authorship.
