UFA, August 8 Investigative bodies have detained an employee of a boarding house for the elderly and disabled in Izhevsk on suspicion of beating a resident of the institution, who died from her injuries in the hospital, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Udmurtia reported.
Investigators have opened a criminal case in connection with the death of an 87-year-old resident of a private boarding house for the elderly and disabled in Izhevsk under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «intentional infliction of serious bodily harm resulting in death,» the department reports. 
According to the investigation, on July 13, a suspected employee of the institution, due to personal hostility, struck and kicked an 87-year-old resident of the boarding house, who was unable to move independently. The elderly woman was taken to hospital with bodily injuries, where she died on August 5 despite receiving medical assistance.
«The suspect has been detained, and the investigator is preparing a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention,» the statement said.
