The board of the charitable foundation «Need Help» has decided to self-liquidate. This was announced by representatives of the foundation in a letter to people who have subscribed to their donations, Meduza reports.
This is one of the largest charitable organizations in Russia. The foundation helps other NGOs collect donations. This includes small projects from the regions. In addition, the foundation evaluates the transparency of Russian NGOs and provides them with online tools for work.
On March 1, the Ministry of Justice added them to the register of «foreign agents.» Representatives of the foundation said that soon after this, their funding began to «fall sharply,» and NGOs began to terminate contracts with them. Tinkoff Bank disabled the ability to make automatic transfers to them through the app.
In today's letter to donors, employees of «Need Help» noted that, in addition to the decrease in the number of donations, some large companies also refused to collaborate with them.
“After the foundation was recognized as a foreign agent on March 1, 2024, we looked for opportunities to continue our activities with the new status, but this turned out to be almost impossible,” the letter says.
