MOSCOW, August 9 The father of American entrepreneur Elon Musk, Errol, said that his son considered building a plant for one of his companies in the UK, but abandoned the idea because he wants to invest in places where «people are willing to work.»
Musk Sr. told the Times that his son, the SpaceX co-founder and Tesla CEO, had previously looked at a potential UK factory site but ruled it out.
«We need to invest in places where people are willing to work,» he said, before telling a joke about the UK's Labour government, paid holidays and workers getting every other Friday off.
Errol Musk also said that his son is a very powerful man and that the US government will have to come to an agreement with Elon «on everything» in the future.
Earlier, Elon Musk criticized the head of the new Labour government in Britain, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, for his statements that the British government opposes attacks on Muslim communities amid the recent unrest. Musk wondered if the government should be concerned about attacks on «all communities.»
