MOSCOW, August 10 Moscow has sent its forces and resources to help the Kursk region; in one day, 24 temporary accommodation points with a capacity of up to 20 thousands of people with everything they need to live, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on his Telegram channel.
«We are sending our forces and resources to help the Kursk region. On the instructions of the President of Russia, we are creating conditions for the temporary stay of people who were forced to leave their homes. Over the past 24 hours, 24 points with a capacity of up to 20,000 people with everything they need for living have been set up in the Kursk region,» Sobyanin said.
He noted that 1,000 employees of the capital's municipal services complex and 345 units of equipment are involved.
«Our services will work on site as long as necessary. We are with you,» the mayor added.
Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that five victims of the shelling in the Kursk Region had been admitted to Moscow clinics. Two children were evacuated by helicopter to the Research Institute of Emergency Children's Surgery and Traumatology, two victims were evacuated to the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care, and one person was taken to the F.I. Inozemtsev City Clinical Hospital. All of them survived the transportation safely and are in serious but stable condition.
Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said on Wednesday that on Tuesday at 05:30 (Moscow time) units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces numbering up to a thousand people went on the offensive with the aim of capturing territory in the Kursk region. Their advance deep into Russian territory has been stopped, he said. The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces emphasized that the operation in the Kursk region will be completed by defeating the enemy and reaching the state border. On Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces formations that attempted to advance in the Kursk region have already lost 660 servicemen and 82 armored vehicles in two days, including eight tanks, 12 armored personnel carriers, six infantry fighting vehicles and 55 armored vehicles.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the situation in the Kursk region, said that the Kiev regime has undertaken another large-scale provocation, conducting indiscriminate shooting, including at civilian targets. The official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetlana Petrenko, reported that after the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the border area in the Kursk region, cases were opened, in particular, on a terrorist attack and murders; Russian investigators are establishing the identities of the Ukrainian military personnel who gave and carried out orders to strike civilian targets in the region.
