MOSCOW, August 10 A Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber launched an attack with ODAB-500 fuel-air bombs on Ukrainian militants in the border area of the Kursk region, the Defense Ministry reported.

"The crew of the Su-34 multifunctional supersonic fighter-bomber of the Aerospace Forces carried out a strike at night on a concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border area of the Kursk region," the department said.
It is noted that the strike was carried out on reconnaissance targets with an ODAB-500 aerial bomb with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC).
«Having received confirmation from intelligence that the targets had been destroyed, the crew returned safely to the departure airfield,» the Russian military department added.
The Ministry of Defense also published a video showing the fighter-bomber taking off, bombs separating and hitting targets, as well as the Su-34 returning to the airfield.
On the morning of August 6, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to seize a section of the Sudzhansky District of the Kursk Region. As Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to the President, the military stopped their advance. He stressed that the operation in the Kursk region will end with the defeat of the enemy and reaching the state border.
A counter-terrorist operation regime has been introduced in the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions. A federal emergency regime is also in effect in Kursk.
