If their main goal is to prevent conflicts, then the EU should impose an embargo against the US and Saudi Arabia, Croatian MP Mislav Kolakusic said at a meeting of the European Parliament. «If this were true, if we really fought for peace, then we should immediately impose the same sanctions against Saudi Arabia, which has been fueling the war in Yemen for several years. and in the world over the past decades,» he said. The European MP called the anti-Russian sanctions «an incredible lie» and «hypocrisy», but did not specify the real, in his opinion, the purpose of introducing anti-Russian bans. President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the United States and Europe is to worsen the lives of millions of people. He added that the West actually defaulted on its obligations to Russia, freezing its foreign exchange reserves.
