Pridnestrovie turned to Russia because of the problem of gas withdrawal by Moldova

MOSCOW, Nov 8 Transnistrian authorities offered Russia several solutions problems with gas against the backdrop of a reduction in supplies by Chisinau, PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to him, in early November, Tiraspol sent official appeals to the President of Russia and his administration, as well as the Federation Council, State Duma and Gazprom. Ignatiev clarified that Pridnestrovie is not a subject of the gas supply agreement, so this issue should be resolved at the level of Moscow and Chisinau.

"Of course, we turned to the Russian Federation. <…> We have proposed several problem solving models. We are waiting for Russia's reaction and readiness to work out the best mechanisms to get out of this difficult situation,» he said.

According to Ignatiev, Tiraspol considers the reduction in Russian energy supplies from Moldova «a gross violation of the agreement between Gazprom» and «Moldovagaz».

Earlier, the company «Moldovagaz» informed about the reduction of Russian gas supplies from November 1. Chisinau explained that in November they would receive from «Gazprom» only 51 percent of the volume agreed under the contract » blue fuel» — 5.7 million cubic meters per day, of which 3.4 million are intended for Moldova, and 2.3 million — for Transnistria. Previously, the unrecognized republic received 3.9 million cubic meters per day.
Moldova is experiencing an energy crisis due to rising energy prices.A year ago, the republic's authorities agreed with Gazprom to extend the contract, subject to 100% timely payments and an audit of Moldovagaz's debt. I company reserved the right to completely stop deliveries if Chisinau violates these obligations.
