The Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod sentenced local journalist Natalya Rezontova to one and a half years of restriction of freedom on a «sanitary case». This was reported in Rezontova's telegram channel.
The journalist was banned from traveling outside Nizhny Novgorod and attending mass events. Earlier, the prosecutor's office requested two and a half years of freedom restriction for her.
“I do not consider myself guilty, I do not believe that there are reasons for any criminal punishment. <…> The apparatus of the regional government takes revenge on me for the election results, but it is stupid to turn this revenge against me: I am not the only one who made these results. This is revenge not on me, but on independent citizens, ”the journalist said in her last word.
Rezontova has been under a ban on certain actions since March 2021. In March of this year, she was placed under house arrest until August, as the journalist refused to wear an electronic bracelet, which was not included in her measure of restraint. Employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service explained the need for this by saying that Rezontova walked around the city with a “no war” bag.
According to investigators, in January 2021, Rezontova published posts on social networks about actions in support of Alexei Navalny, “deliberately ignoring the requirements of sanitary -epidemiological rules regarding the cancellation of mass events” (Part 1 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code). cite__image» alt=»1″ />«The ability to earn a living has been taken away from me court.» What happens to the defendants in the Nizhny Novgorod «sanitary case»
