MOSCOW, Dec 6 Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ilya Kiva claims that as a result of attacks on Monday, the largest Trypilska thermal power plant in the Kyiv region was hit.
On Monday, the media reported on explosions in a number of regions of Ukraine after an air alert was announced. According to them, the Kirovograd, Odessa and Zhytomyr regions were partially left without power supply. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal confirmed the damage to power facilities in the Kyiv, Vinnitsa and Odessa regions after rocket attacks.
«Yesterday Russian missiles managed to hit the Trypilska Thermal Power Plant, the most powerful power plant in the Kyiv region. The enterprise is the largest supplier of electricity to Kyiv, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr region,» Kiva wrote in his Telegram channel. According to him, the damage and the possibility of restoration are still being assessed by experts.
The attacks on the Ukrainian infrastructure of the Russian Armed Forces began on October 10 — two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, which, according to the Russian authorities, is behind the Ukrainian special services. The strikes are carried out on energy, defense industry, military command and communications facilities. Since then, air alerts have been announced in the Ukrainian regions every day, sometimes throughout the country.
