Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in online voting in the elections for the mayor of Moscow.
The head of state recalled that regional heads will be elected in 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including the capital.
“Elections are a direct expression of the will of citizens, the opportunity to influence the future of your city, town, country as a whole, to send to government bodies people you trust and who will represent and defend your interests,” Putin said
The head of state called on residents of regions where these days are elections, take part in them.
Electoral procedures in the Russian Federation are structured as conveniently as possible, the president said, clarifying that he means, among other things, three-day voting at polling stations and the opportunity to cast your vote remotely.
“Electronic voting is becoming more and more popular every year, expanding its geography,” Putin said.
