The CEC received 213 appeals on the first day of voting

MOSCOW, September 9 Head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova of the Russian Federation reported that the CEC received 213 complaints throughout Russia on the first day of voting, the bulk of which were about possible violations and shortcomings in the organization of voting, adding that this was a small number, and expressed the hope that there would be no grounds for complaints.
“On the first day of voting, the Central Election Commission received 213 requests regarding the ongoing election campaigns. The main part contains information about possible violations of election legislation and possible miscalculations and shortcomings in the organization of voting,” Pamfilova said during the briefing.
“Two hundred and thirteen appeals is not enough, but we are not intruding. I hope that there will be no reason for there to be a further large flow of any appeals,” Pamfilova added.

According to her data, most requests come from Moscow. “Mostly, the appeals were related to the unstable operation of the DEG services at the beginning, as well as failures of electronic voting terminals at polling stations,” Pamfilova noted.

Elections in Russia on a single voting day in most regions will take place over three days and began on September 8, the main day will be September 10. The Unified State Duma is planning elections for senior officials in 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and additional elections of State Duma deputies for four vacant seats in single-mandate electoral districts.
