KEMEROVO, October 25 Police in Kuzbass detained a resident of Novokuznetsk who shot from the window of his apartment with a hunting rifle, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Kemerovo areas.
A report of a shot from the first floor window of a house on Kurako Avenue was received at about 08.00 (04.00 Moscow time). An investigative team, police and National Guard squads immediately left for the specified address. They cordoned off the area of the house.
«Police officers established from which apartment the shot was fired. Its residents did not respond at first, but as a result of negotiations they opened the door. The 57-year-old owner of the home was detained. The man, who had obvious signs of severe alcohol intoxication, admitted that he opened window and fired into the street in the direction of the yard, but could not explain the motives for his action. No one was injured as a result of the incident,» the department reports.
It is noted that operatives seized a 20-caliber smoothbore hunting rifle, which the owner legally owned. The weapon contained one spent cartridge case. In addition, gunpowder, shot and a homemade knife were confiscated from the owner.
Police officers are conducting an investigation into this fact. The detainee was taken to the police department. The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Novokuznetsk decides on the initiation of a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Hooliganism». The man faces up to 7 years in prison.
