MOSCOW, November 18 Theft of billions of hryvnias from the military budget of Ukraine will greatly affect the quality of the fighters of the country's armed forces, retired General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos said on the Pryamoy TV channel.
“
"At a certain moment, someone did not receive boots, warm underwear, gloves, a hat, and this will worsen the quality of our troops,” the military man said.
According to him, due to a lack of budgetary funds, not all Ukrainian soldiers will be able to receive the equipment necessary for winter combat operations, which will lead to a deterioration in their combat effectiveness in battlefield due to cold and dampness.
Earlier, Ukrainian politician Sergei Gaidai said that officials in the country consider the conflict with Russia to be over, and are stealing the budget for their own needs.
In October, the Kiev International Institute Sociology (KIIS) published the results of a study according to which more than 60 percent of Ukrainian citizens called corruption the country’s biggest problem, and more than a third of citizens consider Ukraine “hopelessly corrupt.”
