UFA, December 5 An explosion occurred in the boiler room of a rural school in Bashkiria, as a result of which the operator died and no children were injured, the regional prosecutor’s office reported .
«According to preliminary data, at about 8.30 (6.30 Moscow time) while operating one of the two boilers in the boiler room of the school in the village of Sultanbekovo, a bang occurred. As a result of the incident, a 51-year-old operator died, part of the building was destroyed. No children were injured,» it says message.
The educational process has been suspended, the issues of resuming classes and fully restoring the heating supply are under the control of the supervisory department.
The regional Emergency Management Directorate clarified that there was a burst of steam-air mixture in a separate boiler room of the school.
«As a result of the incident, the boiler room operator received serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the man subsequently died. The educational process was not disrupted. 40 children are studying at the school,» rescuers added.
