The US named the reason for Zelensky's failure in Washington

MOSCOW, December 6 American politicians refuse to support Ukraine because for corruption, writes columnist Bradley Dalvin in an article for The American Conservative, citing the words of a member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Freedom Caucus Scott Perry.

"We do not intend to issue checks payable to bearer to this country — the world champion in corruption for the sake of the good mood of Democrats and Republicans, whatever you call them,” the journalist quotes the politician.

Delvin argues that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lobbied the US government for support during the early conflict with Russia, but he is now failing without further help because the problem of corruption in the former Soviet republic has not been resolved.

"Any lobbyist suffers losses from time to time. Many even go bankrupt. Some promote lost wars. Whatever the outcome of the events in Ukraine, Zelensky will probably have a dusty job waiting for him on K Street in Washington or on the board of directors of some defense contractor. If he’s lucky, he’ll even be allowed to wear a uniform,” the columnist concluded.

US President Joe Biden previously asked Congress for $106 billion to help Israel and Ukraine, but did not receive unequivocal support. The Republican-majority House of Representatives voted to support only Tel Aviv, but the Democratic-controlled Senate blocked the initiative. Biden stated that he would not sign a bill allocating aid only to Israel without Ukraine if Congress approves such a document, and Republicans in the House of Representatives insist on a separate discussion of support for Kyiv.

The reluctance of the Republican majority in the House of Representatives to agree on appropriations twice in recent months has brought the government closer to a government shutdown due to the lack of an approved budget. At the same time, both times legislators agreed on a temporary one.
According to NBC News, representatives of both parties earlier today tried to agree on the president's request for additional support from Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. These negotiations failed due to the Democrats’ disagreement with the Republican demands to tighten immigration laws.
The previously allocated money is running out, the administration admitted, and therefore the arms packages sent to Ukraine are decreasing. In early November, White House Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby reported that Washington had spent 96 percent of all funds allocated to support Kiev since the beginning of the Russian special operation.
