MOSCOW, August 6 President Vladimir Putin has instructed to consider including the total fertility rate in the assessment of regional leaders, the Kremlin website reports.
«The Presidential Administration, together with the government, will consider the issue of including the «total fertility rate» indicator in the list of indicators for assessing the performance of senior officials of the constituent entities and the performance of executive bodies of the constituent entities,» the text says.
The head of state also instructed, if necessary, to include measures aimed at increasing the birth rate in national projects. First of all, we are talking about the subjects where the total coefficient at the end of last year was below the Russian average.
These documents were included in the list of instructions following the extended meeting of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects and the State Council commissions on socio-economic development.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova proposed including the birth rate in the assessment of senior regional officials. According to her, this will show how successfully the subjects cope with maintaining and increasing the population.
In early May, Putin signed a decree according to which the total fertility rate should increase to 1.6 by 2030 and to 1.8 by 2036. It is noted that the fulfillment of these indicators characterizes the achievement of the national goal «Preservation of the population, strengthening health and improving the well-being of people, supporting the family.»
