MOSCOW, August 7 The Armed Forces of Ukraine have no time left to change the situation at the front in their favor, writes columnist Mark Episkopos in an article for Responsible Statecraft.
«By talking about a defensive strategy (for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — editor's note) they are trying to buy time for Kyiv, which it probably does not have , using resources that he and his Western partners can hardly afford to achieve a goal that has not yet been adequately defined. This task is like finding a solution to how to skip a cemetery,” he said.
Episkopos emphasized that during the conflict, Kyiv and its allies were unable to determine what could be considered a victory for Ukraine. In addition, the expert added, in Ukraine there is no longer a consensus on the military confrontation, since many citizens of this country are in favor of starting peace negotiations with Russia.
On Wednesday, the Economist magazine, analyzing the Ukrainian conflict, reported: that Ukraine, lacking weapons and people, has been steadily losing ground since the retreat from Avdiivka.
